Everything Skylight does

It reads your Plano ISD Skyward account and rebuilds it as something you can check in five seconds on a phone.

The gradebook

Grades worked out, not copied across

Skylight doesn't reprint the number Skyward shows. It reads your assignments and their category weights and works the grade out itself, which is the only reason what-if can work.

  • Every class with its period number, so the list runs in the order your day does.
  • Both nine-week terms side by side, with the semester exam and the semester grade.
  • Assignments grouped by category, with the weight each category carries.
  • A grade-over-time chart, built by replaying your assignments in order.
AP Calculus BC · Period 1
Major grades 50% of grade 94.0
Minor grades 30% of grade 90.7
Daily work 20% of grade 87.5
What-if

Change any score, add an assignment that doesn't exist yet, or delete one. The grade recalculates against the real category weights.

To finish 9 Weeks 2 at 93, you need 96.5 on the next major grade
What-if

Two questions, both answered here

What happens to my grade if I get this, and what do I need on the next one. Both are arithmetic on data your browser already has, so neither one goes to a server.

What do I need?

You need 96.3%, or 96.3 out of 100 points.

Every number here was worked out in your browser. The real what-if calculator works the same way: nothing you type is sent anywhere.

GPA

GPA and academic history

  • Ranked, cumulative and unweighted GPA.
  • Academic history: the courses and marks behind those numbers.
  • The figures come from configured rules. They are estimates, not an official transcript or an official rank.

GPA rules change by district, by year and by course. Skylight works yours out from the rules it has been given, which is close enough to plan around. Anything official comes from your counsellor.

Notifications

New grades, as one readable line

Skylight compares what it just loaded against what it saw last time and writes the difference down: the class, what posted, and what it did to that class's grade. AP Calculus BC · 100 on Unit 2 Exam · 90.3 → 91.5 (+1.2).

  • An activity feed of every change it has caught
  • Desktop notifications while a tab is open
  • Web Push to your phone with the app closed
  • Installs to your home screen, with no app store involved
  • Background checks every 15 minutes, if you turn them on

Attendance & schedule

Your attendance record and your schedule, in the same app as the grades they belong to.

Light and dark

Follows your system by default, or pin it either way. The interface is grey on purpose, so colour only ever means one thing: how a grade is doing.

AI overview (opt-in)

Ask for it and you get a short summary of how things are going. It is sent your course names and grades, nothing else. It runs on Cloudflare Workers AI and nothing is kept.

Guest mode

No account at all. Sign in with your Skyward login, read your grades, close the tab. Nothing is saved on the server.

Try it on your own grades

Sign in with your Skyward login, or use guest mode, which saves nothing.
